Dispatch Ops Playbook
Run the city pulse with the same precision as our live ops desk.
In this guide
Translate the Vynex City Pulse feed into on-shift decisions, craft airtight radio comms, and keep crews rotating without burning out your dispatch bench.
Configure the portal’s live widgets so you never miss a shard escalation.
Structure radio traffic so field units hear what matters and nothing else.
Use debrief loops that turn chaotic scenes into stronger future RP.
Prime your desk before the shard heats up
Check the City Pulse widget, queue telemetry, and department rosters 15 minutes before go time. Build a quick wall board with priority calls, available units, and ongoing investigations.
Confirm your partner rotation—dispatchers perform best in pairs. One owns the radio, the other runs intel, CAD entries, and unit assignments.
Engineer signal-rich radio traffic
Radio clutter kills immersion. Use the 5-7-10 rule: no radio check should be longer than five seconds, debriefs stay under seven, and scene escalations get a hard cap of ten.
Push updates in order of tactical urgency, then narrative opportunity. You keep the story on rails while empowering patrol to improvise.
Shortcut
Use the portal’s canned radio macros for priority tones, EMS pings, and scene closers. They auto-format unit IDs and timestamps.
Close loops with debriefs that build culture
Within fifteen minutes of a major scene, host a three-question debrief in the dispatch channel: what worked, what got dicey, and what follow-ups do we log in the CAD?
Log story hooks in the portal so future shifts can pick up the thread. Dispatch continuity is how crews feel like they’re part of a living world.
FAQ
Quick answers to the questions reviewers and staff hear the most for this track.
How many dispatchers should cover peak hours?+
Two minimum. One runs tactical comms, the other handles intel and follow-ups. During launches or events, assign a third to liaise with command for sweeps and restarts.
What if a unit won’t clear the radio?+
Use a firm but in-character reminder, then move them to an admin channel if needed. Document the incident in the portal so staff can coach the crew later.
